3 Reasons to Enjoy Spring Break in La Jolla

March 5, 2018

Spring break will be here before you know it. Time to choose a destination for your vacation. Of course, everyone wants to go to the beach for spring break, but which beach? We may be biased, but we think that La Jolla could be the perfect spring break destination whether you’re a college student looking for an exhilarating relief from your studies or a family looking to enjoy some quality time together. We have beautiful beaches, shopping downtown, and a laid back atmosphere that can allow you to truly relax. But this close to all the excitement of San Diego, it’s sure not to be boring.

Here are three reasons to enjoy spring break in La Jolla this year.

Try Something New

La Jolla is a great destination for trying something new. Have you always wanted to learn how to surf? Do you dream of exploring underwater life? Is paragliding high up on your bucket list? You can enjoy all of these activities and more in La Jolla. The Underwater Park is popular with kids and adults alike, a great place to go scuba diving or snorkeling to see all of the colorful sea life. La Jolla is also a popular destination for surfing, so there are plenty of local surfing schools that can teach you over the course of your spring break. Extreme sports are also available here, allowing you to feel like you’re flying as you hang glide or paraglide over the La Jolla coast.

Soak Up the Sun

A good beach is a must for spring break, and La Jolla Cove is one of the most photogenic beaches in Southern California. It’s a small beach tucked into the nearby cliffs, but it provides ample helpings of sea, sand, and sun, with a few wildflowers peppering the landscape this time of year. But La Jolla Cove isn’t the only beach to enjoy here. You can find beaches for everyone. The small but friendly Children’s Pool Beach, Tourmaline Surfing Park Beach and Windansea Beach for surfers, and the clothing optional Black’s Beach if you’re feeling daring. Whether you want to relax, catch the waves, or take some great photography, you’ll be able to find a beach that suits you in La Jolla.

Sample the Brews

San Diego’s booming craft beer scene makes it a popular place for spring breakers, and La Jolla is no exception. There are hip breweries in La Jolla with a variety of craft beers on tap that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. From La Jolla Brewing Company to AleSmith and any breweries in between, if you’re looking for a spring break where you can kick your feet up and sip on a refreshing brew, La Jolla is a destination that you don’t want to miss. And if you have more sophisticated tastes, take a wine tour or sample the wine menu at one of our restaurants downtown.

La Jolla is an excellent spring break spot for any spring breakers, and the Bed & Breakfast Inn at La Jolla would be happy to accommodate you. We’re located within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants downtown, and a short drive from major attractions like Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and Temecula Wine Country. Book a room today and start planning a spring break you won’t soon forget.
