Where to Stay When Attending San Diego Comic Con

June 25, 2018

The 2018 International Comic Con: San Diego is nearly here. With the convention opening on July 19th, if you haven’t booked your accommodations yet, now is the time. But if you’ve never been to Comic Con or San Diego before, you may be going through pages and pages of Google results unsure of where to stay. Before you settle, here are a few reasons to consider staying at The Bed & Breakfast Inn at La Jolla.

Closeness to San Diego Proper

The San Diego metropolitan area is vast, with several neighborhoods and communities, each with their own flavor. Of course, many Comic Con attendants hope to stay in the heart of the city, but those rooms book fast, especially during Comic Con. Besides that fact, the heart of the city is not always the only — or even best place to stay when attending Comic Con.

La Jolla is a short drive from the San Diego Convention Center, but also removed from the traffic and bustle. It’s conveniently placed enough that you can go to and from the San Diego Convention Center with ease, but far removed enough that you can enjoy peace and quiet of a friendly community when you’re not at the convention center. And you want to get right back to the excitement of San Diego, we’re only minutes from the thriving downtown San Diego.

La Jolla’s Own Attractions

But La Jolla offers amenities and attractions all its own. The most popular is undoubtedly La Jolla Cove. This beautiful beach feels intimate because of the cliffs that surround it, although there are a number of shops and restaurants nearby to accommodate you. It’s an excellent place to go snorkeling, explore the sea caves, surf, or just relax on the shore. You may even spy a seal while you’re here.

San Diego’s microbrewery scene is all the buzz and La Jolla is a part of that. Downtown La Jolla offers a variety of shopping ventures, from book and craft stores to fashion boutiques. And for artsy Comic Con goers, the colorful art scene in La Jolla can be seen from the galleries to the murals you pass on the street. La Jolla is quieter than the hustle and bustle of downtown San Diego, providing a more peaceful vacation experience for the days when you’re not at the convention; but it’s by no means boring.

Relaxing Rooms and Hospitality

Sure, you can stay at a cheap hotel or an Airbnb for your San Diego Comic Con trip if that’s what you want. But if you’re looking for a relaxing place to crash after a long day of wandering the convention center, or if you want to take this trip as an excuse to treat yourself, it’s hard to beat the intimate relaxation and hospitality of a historic bed and breakfast in the heart of La Jolla. We have in-room dining service, beautiful and soothing gardens, a number of add-ons and special packages, and we’re located just one block away from the ocean. Finally, of course, is the daily three-course breakfast. It’s the kind of hospitality you just can’t find at a regular hotel.

Here at The Bed & Breakfast Inn at La Jolla, we hope you enjoy 2018 Comic Con and we hope you consider letting us be a part of your con experience. Book your room today.
